The ‘Queen’ of Bollywood, Kangana Ranaut sure looked every bit ethereal, as she walked as a showstopper and show opener for Tarun Tahiliani at Lakme Fashion Week, in its 2016 avatar. Though not traditional in the literal sense, this outfit had an aura of liberation and freedom around her, which the fashion enthusiasts and critics absolutely loved. Plus, the way Kangana carried it too made it a sight to remember. This one will definitely top the lists of bridesmaids this year, and even those brides, who love their outfits with an edge.
Doesn’t she look absolutely stunning?
Coming to the day one of Lakme Fashion Week Winter Festive 2016, the collections showcased were experimental, yet effervescent, with edge that gave the outfits a completely new vision and look.

LFW2016, Day 1 started with new faces, new designers whose debut showcased their hard work demanding Gen next trends. It was ‘Nought One’ collection by Abhishek Pataani, where we saw men’s wear with a twist, Anupreet Sidhu’s label ‘Sindhu Ji’ collection which was inspired from a 21st century painting of Vincent Van Gough, we loved them all.
While Gaurav Khainjio brought forward Indian handlooms with a twist of his own, adding a nostalgic touch of vintage, Paridhi Jaipuria’s ‘Bunai’ collection had great work wear for women, again with an edgy twist to it.
Amrita Khanna and Gursi Singh’s ‘Lovebirds’ too won our hearts, with its subtlety and simplicity, that was woven by them intricately in vintage era.

Arjun Kapoor won our hearts as he walked for Sahil Aheja and looked every bit as charming as he is, as he walked in this totally revolutionised men’s wear, a beau every girl would love beside her.
When one is not enough…

Ujjwal Agney’s ‘Antar Agni’ collection totally wooed our hearts as we saw men walk in an almost perfect amalgamation of vintage and modern, and in the most charming way.
But, we have saved the best for the last. In came Sushant Singh Rajput, shyly debuting on the ramp in bandhgala sherwani and jodhpuri pant for Manish Malhotra’s collection, which combined tradition with modern effortlessly. Sushant was accompanied on the ramp by the very lovely Shraddha Kapoor.
We were absolutely bowled over by the Lakme Fashion Week Winter Festive 2016. Watch this space as we will be bringing you day by day account of the same.
