Any fashion event is extremely important for Bollywood! Especially if it is Lakme Fashion Week. The winter/festive edition of the fashion show is extremely important as it sets the tone for the upcoming wedding season while showcasing innovative designs in different fabrics. On the day 2 of Lakme Fashion Week amidst several models, Bollywood celebrities like former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen, actress Rasika Dugal and ‘Stree’ actor Rajkumar Rao walked down the ramp.

Former Miss World Sushmita Sen walked down the ramp while donning a vibrantly coloured fusion jumpsuit. What caught our attention was the unique dupatta drape that resembled a skirt from behind that gave the jumpsuit a saree effect. In deed a very innovative creation on designer Sunita Shanker’s part.

Sushmita Sen rocked the ramp in a well toned body and a western jumpsuit. She looked simply stunning draped in orange, blue and pink silk. Sush chose to middle part her slick hair to give her a neat look that was completed by jewellery and beige studded high heels.

Another Bollywood celebrity who walked down the Lakme Fashion Week’s ramp was 2013 ‘Aurangeb’ actress Rasika Dugal. The actress looked absolutely stunning draped in a saree by Gunjan Jain’s designer label ‘Vriksh’. Gunjan Jain’s latest collection is all about handwoven sarees in experimental drapes teamed up with work wear blouses for today’s woman. The brand focuses on giving Odisha textile a new and modern twist while being sustainable.

While Sushmita and Rasika were stunning in their desi avatars Rajkumar Rao stood out in the crowd and grabbed all the eyeballs clad in an all-white outfit by designer Rajesh Pratap Singh. The ‘Stree’ actor was sporting a layered white kurta over skin-tight churidar pyjamas. To complete the look Rajkumar Rao was also donning a white bandgala jacket and wearing white sneakers with golden detailing.

While all the designers who showcased their work on Lakme Fashion Week 2018 winter/festive edition’s day two were completely different in their approach but one thing binds them to the core.
