Deepika Padukone On Depression:  Let Us Stand With Them, Let Us Not Shame Anyone

As we all know Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone had gone through severe depression post her break up with former boyfriend, Ranbir Kapoor. Recently, on World Health Day last week, Deepika joined hands with the Karnataka government to spread the message. In her speech on the topic, Let’s talk depression, Deepika Padukone urged everyone to extend an help of love to the people who are facing depression and that one should not be shamed of suffering from the mental illness.

Talking about this, Deepika Padukone said in a statement: “Depression can strike anyone regardless of their age, background or economic status. Unfortunately, those who suffer from depression and other mental health issues face prejudice and discrimination.”

“I have also suffered depression. We need to ask people around us. We need to keep our conversations alive. Let us make people suffering from depression comfortable, loved. Let us stand with them. Let us not shame anyone,” she added.

On the work front, Deepika Padukone geared up for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati that also stats Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor.
