Its been two days already and I haven’t updated my fashion patrons about details on Amazon India Fashion Week 2016. Let me not delay it and give you all the insights about Day 1 & 2 at Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn Winter 2016.
Events have been started on Wednesday at the fashion capital of India, yes that’s Delhi. This time the venue was Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium much more bigger, well organised compared to last year’s event. I guess this was an big relief for all those fashion candies who made their presence.
Ok, let’s focus on the most juicy thing about the event. 101 Designers and their models presenting us all the new collection. All MEN, there is an exclusive show on Friday for designers to showcase men’s wear.
Amazon India Fashion Week 2016 in association with Maybelline Newyork is a 5 day gala event, which will conclude on sunday(20th March). In group finale, 9 designers will be showcasing their collection. Let’s take a look what to expect from Day 1 till Day 5.

Grand Finale is based on the theme “India Modern”, wherein 9 designers – “Rajesh Pratap Singh, Rahul Mishra, Aneeth Arora, Abraham & Thakore, Anju Modi, Samant Chauhan, Rohit & Rahul, Amit Aggarwal, Pankaj & Nidhi” will present their work. Here the designers will use minimal color palette, Indian textiles and Craftmanships.

Varun Bahl’s collection was all applique, sequins and embroidery.
Akaaro by Gaurav Jai Gupta was reversible and handloom.
Hemant & Nandita played with deep red, grey and maroon color for jackets and tunics.
Pallavi Mohan collection “Synthesis” was more towards winter formal wear style.
Shantanu and Nikhil showcased gowns with as subtle colors as off-white and grey and loud color red.
Kiran Uttam Ghosh collection was highlighting on jewellery styled work with silver border as major break through.
Gaurav Gupta named his collection as “Melt” bringing climatic changes and global warning awareness among all of us. I don’t know if his collection was environment safe!!

Grassroot by Anita Dongre was all about echoing the melodies of nature handcrafted contemporary comfy wear.
Rajesh Pratap Singh used white shirt as base and gold/silver and metallic applique on it for a bold look.
Nikasha, gave us the wedding wardrobe hint for the brides to chose from ethnics with fusion twist.
Malini Ramani’s collection gave us a perfect thought for cocktail party. Sari’s, pleated pants and dresses all were awesome.
Samant Chauhan’s silhouettes were all rustic and muddy color featuring zari and dori work.
Virtues by Viral, Ashish and Vikrant are all about traditional lehenga and sherwani’s. Did you check that jewellery!?
