Brad Pitt Breaks Silence Post Angelina Jolie Split, Reveals He Quit Boozing and Smoking

Hollywood’s most admired couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt broke our hearts when they decided to end their 11 years of marriage last year September. The couple who were so much in love and were popularly called as ‘Brangelina’ called off their relationship and stumbled the internet upside down.

Brad Pitt is father to 15-year-old Maddox, 13-year-old Pax, 12-year-old Zahara, 10-year-old Shiloh and eight-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox with his estranged wife Angelina Jolie, who had filed for divorcee with Brad in September.

Since then Brad Pitt never spoke anything about his split with wife Angelina Jolie. It was first time after September that Brad Pitt opened up about his broken marriage with GQ Style Magazine. The 53-year-old actor gave his first interview to the magazine since the couple called off their marriage.

According to reports, the marriage was ended because of Brad Pitt’s alcohol addiction. Recalling the whole situation Brad told in an interview that, alcohol has caused severe damage to his marriage and kids and he is trying hard to be a better man again. He is also seeing a therapist who is helping him to quit boozing and smoking. The therapist will help Brad to once again grow and live a cleaner life.

He said, “I can’t remember a day since I got out of college when I wasn’t boozing,” he says. “And I’m running from feelings. I’m really, really happy to be done with all of that. I mean I stopped everything except boozing when I started my family. But even this last year, you know – things I wasn’t dealing with. I was boozing too much. It’s just become a problem. And I’m really happy it’s been half a year now, which is bittersweet, but I’ve got my feelings in my fingertips again. I think that’s part of the human challenge: You either deny them all of your life or you answer them and evolve.”

Remembering his old days and love for wine, “Truthfully I could drink a Russian under the table with his own vodka. I was a professional. I was good.” Now he replaces alcohol with “cranberry juice and fizzy water.” He adds, “I just started therapy. I love it, I love it. I went through two therapists to get to the right one.”

Talking more about himself, Brad said, “I’m personally very retarded when it comes to taking inventory of my emotions. I’m much better at covering up.” He explains, “I grew up with a Father-knows-best/war mentality – the father is all-powerful, super strong – instead of really knowing the man and his own self-doubt and struggles. And it’s hit me smack in the face with our divorce: I gotta be more. I gotta be more for them. I have to show them. And I haven’t been great at it.”

Remembering how sober he has spent his six months, Brad added, “I’m really happy it’s been half a year now, which is bittersweet, but I’ve got my feelings in my fingertips again. I think that’s part of the human challenge: You either deny them all of your life or you answer them and evolve.”

We think that Brad Pitt is trying every-bit to change himself and work towards to be a good man and good father to his family. Will Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt reconcile? What you think, tell us in the comments box.
