One of the most anticipated movies of the year, ‘Sanju’ is off for a great start at the box office! Just as expected Sanjay Dutt’s biopic starring Ranbir Kapoor has not only made its presence felt at the box office but has also won hearts all around the world.
Sanju’s day one collection at the box office has surpassed what was expected and predicted! Rajkumar Hirani directed biopic has received the biggest box office opening of 2018, so far. ‘Sanju’ is also Ranbir Kapoor’s biggest opener yet.
The biopic’s day one, Friday’s collection is a whopping Rs 34.75 crore, nearly Rs 4 crore more than what was expected! Now this is simply phenomenal as ‘Sanju’ has released on a normal weekend with no festivals and no holidays in sight. As per trade analyst Taran Adarsh the movie is expected to enter the Rs 100 crore club by the end of this weekend, means in just three days!

Sanjay Dutt and Ranbir Kapoor fans will be happy to know that ‘Sanju’ has left Salman Khan’s ‘Race 3’ quite behind when it comes to getting one of the biggest openings of the year at the box office.
Rajkumar Hirani directed film received a massive occupancy of 60-65% for the morning shows and 75-80% for the afternoon as well as the evening shows.

‘Sanju’ is not only creating waves here but is also making news in the States. The Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Dia Mirza, Vicky Kaushal and Paresh Rawal starrer has had the second biggest opening day at the box officefor a Bollywood movie after Aamir Khan’s ‘PK’. ‘Sanju’ has minted over $725,000 at the US box office!
Currently, ‘Sanju’has the second biggest box office collection on a non-holiday day after ‘Baahubali 2’. As for advanced bookings for the film, the tickets were being booked a month prior to Sanju’s release. This has probably contributed to the grand opening the film has received.
When it comes to crunching numbers, ‘Sanju’ has had the most advanced bookings of 2018 amongst Hindi movies. However, ‘Sanju’ has had a lower advanced booking rate when compared to Marvel’s ‘Avengers Infinity War’ which has had the highest advanced booking rate and has been the highest box-office opener of 2018 in India.
Now, it is a waiting game to see if Sanjay Dutt’s biopic ‘Sanju’ starring Ranbir Kapoor will make a record of entering to Rs 100 crore club in 3 days or not!
