Rajkumar Hirani seems to be turning the wish of every fan of ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai’ true, giving green signal on the making of Munnabhai 3
Rejoice! Our very own loveable doctor Munna Bhai a.k.a Sanjay Dutt and his trusty sidekick Circuit a.k.a Arshad Warsi are ready to make their comeback! Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani made this announcement while promoting Sanjay Dutt biopic starring Ranbir Kapoor ‘Sanju’.
Earlier the work related to the third Munna Bhai movie was stalled due to Rajkumar Hirani’s fascination with Sanjay Dutt’s life. Soon after Hirani announced that he was penning down his Munna’s biopic.
Talking to Outlook about the success of the two previous Munnabhai movies— ‘Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.’ and ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai’ Hiranai said, “We were all new and naive at the time. While we were filming Munna Bhai MBBS, we didn’t think we were doing some kind of mainstream cinema. I only knew that I was doing a different kind of cinema. More than its commercial success, it fetched us a lot of love and affection from people. I was happy that my family and friends saw it. That joy itself was enough. Never in my life had I thought of anything like this.”
Further talking about when can to expect Munna and Circuit’s dynamic duo to grace the big screens, Hirani explained, “We wanted to do the third Munna Bhai film and even wrote a lot of it, but we were not able to match the script with the first two. Now, I have found something, though we still have to write it.”

Looks like as soon the promotions of ‘Sanju’ wraps up, Rajkumar Hirani will start brainstorming ideas with ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai’ co-screenplay writer Abhijat Joshi for the third Munna Bhai instalment.
Although it is confirmed that the third Munna Bhai movie is not going to be called ‘Munna Bhai Chale Amerika’ as previously marketed. In 2007 a short teaser featuring Sunjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi was also released. Till then let the old teaser satiate your Munna and Circuit cravings!
