The Dera Sacha Sauda chief Guru Ram Rahim Singh Insaan convicted in the rape case.
Ram Rahim Singh, the so called leader of the Dera Sacha Sauda sect, got convicted in the rape case Friday. He has been found guilty of raping two women followers in a case dating back to 2002. When the counsel pronounced him guilty, the spiritual leader was shocked and remained in a state silence for some time. Post verdict, he was immediately taken into custody by the police after the verdict. He was taken into a Scorpio car parked outside the court and was also asked to record an appeal on a camera, asking his followers to maintain peace.
According to media reports, he was taken to Rohtak from Panchkula court yesterday, where he has been locked in a designated jail. He won’t be produced before the special CBI court in Panchkula again for pronouncing the quantum of sentence.
After the verdict was out, the followers of Ram Rahim Singh created chaos outside the court. Thirty people are dead and 250 injured in Panchkula and Haryana. The clashes took place between the followers and police. Several buildings, buses and journalist vehicles were set on fire.
In Delhi, a bus and two coaches of empty train were set on fire by lakhs of followers. Post verdict, the followers of Ram Rahim have resorted to riots and protest mainly in Punjab and Haryana. Lives of people, in and around these states are highly influenced. Every common person is aware of this hypersensitive situation and so is Bollwood.

Violence is what #GurmeetRamRahimSingh seems to have taught his followers. This is nonsense & Govt. needs to use full force to STOP it NOW.

Amidst all chaos do not forget courage of two women who exposed a rapist. Give awards so more victims start speaking out. #RamRahimConvicted

I hope he stays in jail long enough to see every one of his Nutjob followers lose enthusiasm, go back to life, and forget about him.
