Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar’s ‘Rustom’ naval officer uniform is auctioning for lakhs, fund raised will be donated for animal rescue.

Undoubtedly, Akshay Kumar not only changed(of-course for good) his choice of movies he is acting but has also been consciously contributing for the welfare of the society through his kind work and passing strong social messages through his movies.
Be it Akshay Kumar’s recent contribution of Rs.10 Lakh for building bio-toilets at Juhu, Mumbai or his initiative “Bharat Ke Veer”, which allow financial assistance to the families of Armed Police Forces killed in the line of duty, he raised himself above the par and is simply winning the hearts.
Akshay Kumar has once again made it to the headlines for his kind gesture. Actor Akshay Kumar has put his naval officer costume from his 2016 hit Rustom, up for auctioning. The actor has decided to donate the fund raised through his uniform for animal welfare NGO named Janice’s Trust, which works for animal rescue.
Akshay Kumar’s Rustom uniform is up for a charity auction which is open for a month. He shared the news of his Rustom uniform auction on Instagram and Twitter handle.

After drawing a few negative comments for putting his patriotism and navel officer uniform on sale, National Award winner Akshay Kumar said, “I am really happy that something so close to my heart — the costume I wore as Rustom Pavri, the character that got me the honour of the National Award — is being used for such a noble cause. Someone asked me why I would want to give up the costume, but my only answer was, what good is it to have it lying in the wardrobe? If it can give life to animals in need of treatment, there can’t be a bigger joy for me.”
While many agreed and appreciated Akshay Kumar’s initiative for the noble cause of animals.
Trade analyst Atul Mohan says, “It’s a great thing that a costume can be used for raising money that can be helpful to someone. There are Bollywood fans everywhere around the world, and Akshay has established himself as a star around the globe. If he can use his celebrity status for a noble cause, then why not.”
Moneycontrol.com quoted Komal Hiranandani, founder of the auctioning site SaltScout.com as saying, “Interestingly most queries and highest bids came from smaller cities like Bharatpur and others.”

Rustom uniform is currently open for bidding on Saltscout.com and at the time of writing the uniform’s current bid value is at whopping amount of Rs.225,000. The bidding is open till May 26th, 2018 – 9:30 PM IST.
