Satellite Rights of ‘2.0’ Starring Rajnikanth- Akshay Kumar Acquired By Zee Network for Rs 110 Crore!

The sci-fi thriller movie “2.0” starring superstar Rajnikanth and Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has set the records of selling satellite rights at a whopping amount of Rs 110 crore. The satellite rights have been bought by Zee Networks. Akshay Kumar will play the role of antagonist. The movie is sequel to 2010 blockbuster ‘Robot’.

 

The film will release in three regional languages Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. The movie budget is supposed to be 450 crore, which is said to be India’s most expensive film. The news of acquisition first came to twitter – 

 

“It’s an unprecedented deal. The price of combined Indian satellite rights for the film for all the languages (Hindi, Tamil and Telugu) is Rs 110 crore. We are very happy to associate with Zee Network for the project,” Raju Mahalingam, creative head of Lyca Productions, told PTI.

The leading actress of movie ‘2.0’ is Amy Jackson. With Sudanshu Pandey, Adil Hussain and Kalabhavan Shajohn completing the whole cast. Academy award winner AR Rahman is music composer of the movie. Special visual effects work is done by Srinivas Mohan, who also did for superhit movie Baahubali.

The film will hit the theaters worldwide on 18 October during the festival of Diwali. 

P.S – Akshay Kumar replaced terminator actor Arnold Schwarzenegger to play antagonist role. Interesting!!
