We guess being a popular celebrity and over indulging in substances has now become a trend. However, it hits close to home when your one of the most loved celebrities is doing it. Demi Lovato has been a mass’ favourite ever since her Disney Channel days so seeing her battle drug and alcohol addiction has been simply heart breaking.

American pop singer Demi Lovato has been hospitalized due to drug overdose. As per reports the singer overdosed on a specific drug at her home and was later admitted into a hospital in Los Angeles on Tuesday afternoon.

It is speculated that Demi overdosed on cocaine or heroin.

A source from the Law Enforcement confirmed that Demi Lovato was given a dose of Narcan when she found. Narcan is a life-saving drug administered to restore normal breathing patterns and to reverse the effects of narcotic overdose.

According to news agency AFA, aspokeswoman from the Los Angeles Fire Department stated that the LAPD(Los Angeles Police Department) responded with a team of medics after receiving a call stating a medical emergency. The call was made from Hollywood Hills street where Demi Lovato resides. Although, the spokesperson did not identify the woman rushed to the hospital as singer Demi Lovato.

In the meanwhile, TMZ reported that Demi put up a fight with the paramedics when they tried asking her what she had taken. 

However, other sources ‘confirm’ that the singer was unconscious when she reached the hospital.

Amidst all the speculations Demi Lovato’s spokesperson stated to E!News:

“Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support. Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now.”

Demi’s aunt Kerissa Dunn even posted on social media that the singer is ‘awake and responsive’. However, that post has been deleted since.

All of Demi’s upcoming work commitments have been cancelled. As confirmed by Variety, Demi Lovato’s concert in Atlantic City, New Jersey which was scheduled for Thursday has been cancelled. Fox too, confirmed that they are replacing Demi’s Tuesday’s scheduled episode of ‘Beat Shazam’.

In the meanwhile, support and love is pouring in from Hollywood for Demi Lovato.
