Pop star Demi Lovato, 25, gets discharged from the hospital after she was rushed two weeks ago for a drug overdose.
Demi Lovato fans were dumbfounded when they discovered that their singing idol has been hospitalized due to an apparent drug overdose. While family, friends, fans, well-wishers sent in their love and support to Demi— the pop singer was recovering in Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre. After hospitalized for almost two weeks, Demi has checked out of the hospital. After a long wait Demi Lovato has finally broken her silence and issued a statement regarding the unfortunate incident.
Through a heartfelt Instagram post Demi expressed her gratitude and thanked her fans for standing with her during such a difficult in time. In the post Demi wrote that she has been transparent about her journey with substance and drug addiction. The post has received more than 5 million likes
She further wrote, “What I’ve learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time. It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet.”
Demi concluded the post by stating that she needs time to heal and that she will keep fighting.
Through the comments sections fans have showered love on Demi. While some fans are sending the pop singing sensation their love, some are remembering her in their prayers. Many fans stated that Demi is an inspiration to them and have urged the singer to fight back for a healthier lifestyle.
This is not the first time that Demi Lovato has spoken about her addiction problems. Previously on many occasions Demi has spoken about her addiction to cocaine and alcohol.
In previous interviews the singer had attributed bullying and low self-esteem as the root causes for her addiction. This is not all— Demi Lovato was also diagnosed with bipolar disorder. This not only effected Demi’s personal life but also her professional life. In 2010, Demi had to leave a Jonas Brothers’ concert and had to get herself enrolled into a rehabilitation programme centre.
