After an intense game of robbers and police spanning across two cities, Delhi Police in association with Mumbai Police has cracked the case of theft at Bollywood singer Mika Singh’s Andheri house. As per reports the thievery was done by Mika Singh’s assistant and foster son— Ankit Vasan.
Ankit Vasan a resident of Delhi stole from Mika when the singer was not home on last Saturday. After committing the robbery Ankit broke the CCTV cameras at Mika’s residence. Along with the valuables and cash Ankit first flew to Delhi to his girlfriend’s house in Vikaspuri. Fearing that he might get caught there, Ankit flew back to Mumbai. Deliberating upon his decision to stay in Mumbai, Ankit panicked and again flew back to Delhi.

By this time Mika had already registered a complaint with the Mumbai Police. Soon Ankit was traced with the help of his call records. DCP (Delhi West) Vijay Kumar stated that after receiving a tip-off at least a dozen raids were performed in many locations before they zeroed in on Ankit Vasan’s girlfriend’s home in Vikaspuri from where he was nabbed.
It is reported that Ankit Vasan changed his location at least 60 times before getting caught.
Speaking to Times Of India about the incident Mika Singh sated, “Ankit was like my son. Agar koi aur chori karta toh mujhe kuch farak nahi padta… par jiske liye aap itna kuch karte hai aur who aapka apna ho, toh dil toot ja ta hai” (If the theft had been committed by some common thief, it would not have affected me. But in this case, it is someone who was close to me. Because someone for whom I have done a lot has committed such an offence, it has left me with a broken heart.)

It was reported earlier this week that Mika Singh has been robbed of cash and valuables worth more than 3 lakhs from his Andheri home in Mumbai. However, upon closer investigation it was found that the singer was robbed of cash, personal valuables, and a hard drive containing a software in all worth more than 12 lakhs.
After nabbing Ankit, Police has reportedly recovered some stolen items from him. DCP Vijay Kumar stated, “We have recovered Rs 50,000 cash. We have also traced Rs 5 lakh that was deposited in three bank accounts. The hard disk with the music software and Mika’s studio keys have been recovered.”
As per sources Mika Singh adopted Ankit Vasan when he was merely five years old. Mika did not only bring him up but also gave him opportunities in the music industry. Ankit used to play the piano as a part of Mika Singh’s band. However, it is reported that Mika did not let him perform for the last two or three show.
Ankit Vasan’s motive for committing this thievery is still unknown.
