Ranbir Kapoor-Mahira Khan were on their ‘smoke-break’ time in New York and looks like some paparazzi or may be a Bollywood freak clicked the duo and put the photos on internet. There was no such thing in that picture to be discussed or to be hated or trolled. I would moreover refer this to any normal ‘smoke-break’ we people would take in our office time, Isn’t it?
The photos of Ranbir Kakpoor-Mahira Khan smoking together went viral in no time. There were also the rumours that Ranbir is dating Mahira and people were literally asking Ranbir to publicly label their relationship. While many took it on lighter side by making some fun jokes and memes, others displayed their hatredness. The viral picture called for slut shaming Mahira Khan from her own home country Pakistan. Twiterrati trolled the actress for her inappropriate dressing and smoking.

Pakistani actor Ali Zafar came in support of Mahira Khan and posted a letter on Twitter and Instagram in which he wrote – “What has happened to us? Have we lost all sense of sensibility? Must we choose gossip, intrigue and the self-appointed right of judgement over restrain, grace, tolerance and compassion?” Every woman has the right to make her own choices in life (as long as she’s not hurting anyone else) just like we men do. How we react defines our own character. Choose wisely for we all shall be judged.”

Bollywood actors Parineeti Chopra and Varun Dhawan too came forward in support of Mahira Kahn. At the trailer launch of movie Golmaal Again, Parineti said, “I’ll just say one line. It’s a little unfair. Everybody knows it’s unfair and it’ll stop. Today, because of social media, everything becomes too big a deal.“
During an interview Varun Dhawan said, “Shame on them for shaming her”, in support of Mahira Khan.
Upset Ranbir Kapoor came forward and reacted to the on-going controversy. Ranbir in support of Mahira said, “I’ve gotten to know Mahira in a personal capacity over the last few months. She is somebody who I admire and respect, for her achievements and even more for the person she is. It is very unfair the way she is being judged and spoken about. What is also sad is the inequality in judgment just because she is a woman. I request you to stop the negativity and move on with your beautiful god gifted lives. Peace and love. PS: Both smoking and hate are injurious to health.”
Rishi Kapoor too had released a statement in connection to people questioning him about Ranbir Kapoor – Mahira Khan relationship. He said, “He could have met her just outside there. They must have been in a restaurant or a place where they cannot smoke, that’s why they are smoking outside. In US, they have really strict rules that don’t allow smoking in public places. I can’t say anything more because I don’t know anything more than that.”
Mahira Khan is already a well known Pakistani artist. She became more popular after her Bollywood debut with Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees.
