The man Anushka Sharma ashamed publicly is identified as former child actor Arhhan Singh.
It has been days since Indian cricketer Virat Kohli posted a short video of his Bollywood actress wife Anushka Sharma schooling a man for littering on the streets of Mumbai. However, it seems like the couple has gotten some schooling for their responsible citizens’ avatar!
Ever since the video shot by Virat Kohli has surfaced the couple has faced a lot of backlash. In the 17-seconds short video we can see Anushka Sharma asking the loiterer “Why are you throwing garbage on the road?”. Not letting the matter drop, the actress schools the bewildered man by telling him to be careful and to not throw plastic around on the streets. Anushka further stated to the man that he should use a dustbin from now on.
For many this video has turned out to be a source for endless memes, for some a serious topic of concern. As you may have noticed Virat did not blur out the face of the loiterer— hence shaming the young man on social media and risking his privacy.
LOL! Did You Know That Anushka Sharma Is Deaf from One Side?
The garbage loiterer has been identified as former child actor Arhhan Singh. You may remember Arhhan as Shahrukh Khan adorable little co-star in 1996 comedy film ‘English Babu Desi Mem’. He has also starred opposite Shahid Kapoor in ‘Paathsaala’. Arhhan has also been a part of popular sitcom ‘Dekh Bhai Dekh’ where he played the role of Shekhar Suman’s son.
Coming in the picture to defend her son, the former child actor’s mother Gitanjali Elizabeth Singh has lashed out on the power couple. In alengthy Instagram post Gitanjali called out Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli for their ‘cheap stunt’.
Not staying behind Arhhan Singh too, turned to Instagram to speak his mind. In a ‘disclaimer’ post the former child actor states a little etiquette and politeness would not have made Anushka Sharma a lesser star. Further stating his woes, Arhhan claims the garbage that mistakenly went out of his car was way less than what came out of the actress’ mouth!
The child actor further dragged Virat Kohli and questioned his motives for posting this video online.
Amidst the backlash Home Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju has extended his support to the couple. In a tweet the minister stated that Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli rather crave privacy than publicity. He further added that civic sense is social ethics and that ethical behaviour does not come with wealth and education. He ended the message by the request of keeping India clean.
C'mon, Virat & Anushka need publicity!! They would rather crave for privacy!! Our conduct reflects our mentality. Civic sense is social ethics and ethical behaviour doesn't come with wealth & education. Let's keep India clean. #SwachhBharat
