Priya Prakash Varrier’s Bollywood debut movie “Sridevi Bungalow” is slapped with legal notice by Sridevi’s husband Boney Kapoor.
A year after becoming an overnight sensation with her ‘wink’ expression in Malayalam movie Oru Aadar Love, Priya Prakash Varrier aka the ‘wink girl’ was recently in news when she had her fan moment with Ranveer Singh and met other Bollywood stars including Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif at the teaser launch of her Bollywood debut movie “Sridevi Bungalow”.
South actress Priya Varrier is in headlines for her Bollywood debut “Sridevi Bungalow”, directed by Prasanth Mambully. Just minutes after the teaser was released, the filmmaker and the actress started receiving negative comments and criticized by public, as it ridicules late actress Sridevi’s life. The teaser shows Priya is drowning in a bathtub, which is annoying similar to Sridevi’s death that occurred last year.

Late actress Sridevi’s husband Boney Kapoor has sent a legal notice to the team of “Sridevi Bungalow”.
Director Mambully confirmed the news of the legal notice which he received and said, “We received a legal notice from Mr Boney Kapoor last week. And we will face it. My film is a suspense thriller. I told him that Sridevi is a common name. My film’s character also happens to be an actress. We will face it.”

Priya Prakash Varrier has denied to comment whether the film is based on the late actress Sridevi or not. Upon contacting Priya’s father Prakash, he said it was for the director and producers of the film to address.
It remains to see how the director is going to handle all the controversy and clear the movie for it’s release.
