Thousands of women are protesting in Washington DC against Donald Trump backed Supreme Court’s nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
Hollywood’s Amy Schumer and Emily Ratajkowski took a stand with other anti-Brett Kavanaugh protesters outside the Hart Senate Office Building in Washington D.C. on Thursday. Dozens of women came together and took over a Senate office building on Thursday, to protest against Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination.
The protest began after FBI gave clean chit to Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh for sexual assault allegations made by Christine Blasey Ford, the Palo Alto University professor. That means senators are set to vote on Kavanaugh’s nomination for Supreme Court judge on Friday.
Hollywood actress Amy Schumer and Emily Ratajkowski, New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand are amongst the 300 people attended the rally and were detained during anti-Kavanaugh protest in D.C.

Emily Ratajkowski also posted a photo of protest across her social media and wrote“Today I was arrested protesting the Supreme Court nomination of Brett Kavanaugh.”
She continued “a man who has been accused by multiple women of sexual assault. Men who hurt women can no longer be placed in positions of power. Kavanaugh’s confirmation as a Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States is a message to women in this country that they do not matter. I demand a government that acknowledges, respects and supports women as much as it does men.”
Whereas, Amy Schumer captured a picture from the protest and assured one of her fan that she is with her mom and are arrested.

Another one where police ask Schumer if she wants to get arrested and she said bluntly a ‘YES’.

“No matter how this goes, they cannot keep us down. We will win. A vote for Kavanaugh is a vote saying women don’t matter,” Schumer said.
Whereas, New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand addressed protesters, telling them, “This is a moment about all of you — all of you are speaking truth to power because you care about the future, you care about our children, you care about who is leading this country and who sits on the highest court in the land.”
Democrats have called the FBI report as ‘incomplete’, which proves Kavanaugh as ‘innocent’ against Christine’s Ford’s sexual harassment charges.
After hundreds of people took a rally at Supreme Court and were detained from there, thousands gathered to the atrium of the Hart Senate Office Building and are chanting it loud “this is what democracy looks like!” and “our voice!”

Retired U.S. Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens said that “Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s performance at confirmation hearings should disqualify him. “The Senators should pay attention to this.”
We need more power and unity to stop Kavanaugh from becoming U.S. Supreme Court judge. We need more voice to reach everywhere and believe in Christine Ford’s story. Because, we #BelieveSurvivors.
