Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, who is king of Box Office, is back with another content oriented film, Padman also starring Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte. The much-anticipated trailer of the film is out and it only proves that only Akki has guts to address such sensitive and taboo subject.
The trailer starts with Amitabh Bachchan’s narration on how the USA might have superheroes but India has ‘Padman’ played by Akshay Kumar. Akki is the superhero who needs no wings or special power to change the world.
Akshay Kumar, as Padman, does everything to make sanitary napkins for women and before anyone, he tries on himself. He also goes to his sisters and wife (Radhika Apte) to share his idea of making sanitary napkins. However, they feel embarrassed about the same. Radhika Apte, who plays his wife in the film, leaves him over the same. Later, Sonam Kapoor, who plays the social worker in the film joins Akshay to execute his idea.

The plot might look quite similar to Akshay’s last film ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’. But moreover anything, the film will bring out the right message. Padma Shri awardee Arunachalam Muruganantham’s noble initiative to spread awareness about menstrual hygiene in rural India is being turned into a film for all the right reasons.
Interestingly, Twinkle had written about Padman aka Arunachalam in short story titled ‘The Sanitary Man’ in her second novel The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad. She is also producing the film that is releasing on January 26, 2018.
