Controversial queen Kangana Ranaut’s much-talked about film, ‘Simran’ has finally hit the Box Office today. The film has released with Farhan Akhtar starrer Lucknow Central. Directed by Hansal Mehta, ‘Simran’ sees Kangana Ranaut (Praful Patel) as a Gujarati divorcee, immigrant girl in the US who wants to live her life on her own terms. She leaves her conservative family to enjoy that first taste of freedom.
Slowly she gets involved in flirting, which becomes a raging obsession. A housekeeper by profession, she jumps into a life of crime after her tryst with gambling at a Las Vegas casino. One after other, things take a bad turn. The interesting part of the film is that director Hansal Mehta has given a touch of comic and has recounted things into a lighter vein in order to get some laugh for the audience.

Best thing about #Simran is undoubtedly #KanganaRanaut. She keeps you invested with the way she deals with her poignant story. @mehtahansal

What could have been avoided in #Simran was a hurried climax which looked predictable and unexciting.

Director Hansal Mehta could have explored the friction between Praful and her father in a more convincing way. #Simran

The film deliberately doesn't invest in laughs for the sake of it, instead going for life-mirroring drama. #Simranmovie #Simran

One word for #Simran . It's a dissapointment. It's based on a true story but the way it's presented is quite not realistic. Gets boring.
