7 Highlights from brothers Shahid Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter on Koffee With Karan 6.
After facing backlash for its last episode with cricketer Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul, Karan Johar’s chat show ‘Koffee With Karan 6’ returned with brothers Shahid Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter on the couch.
On Thursday, Karan took to Instagram to introduce his new guests. Sharing a picture he wrote, ‘brothers in arms’.
Ishaan started his career with Majid Majidi’s ‘Beyond the Clouds’ and went on to act opposite Janhvi Kapoor in Dhadak, which was produced by Karan.

It was Shahid’s fifth appearance on the show, whereas it was Ishaan’s debut on the couch. The two brothers answered very well in ‘Rapid Fire Round’, the most popular part of the show. The episode was a mix of emotions and fun banter as the brothers spoke about family, friends, career and life.

Are you dating Janhvi Kapoor?
Karan Johar was quite upfront and asked Ishaan whether he was dating Janhvi. Ishaan said, “No we’re not dating. We hangout, go to the gym, eat food, watch movies, and listen to South Indian music together.” During the show Shahid was seen pulling his brother’s leg “Janhvi has been buzzing around him a lot.”
Shahid take a dig at Arjun Kapoor for his comment on Ishaan
Things got a little ‘ahem ahem’ when Karan Johar showed them a clip of previous episode of the show in which Arjun Kapoor can be seen saying, “Ishaan keeps buzzing around Janhvi” and it didn’t go well with big brother! After watching the clip Shahid said, “I don’t know how often Arjun is around Janhvi to know how much Ishaan is buzzing around her. I wonder. Because I mean, are they around each other a lot?”
If Ishaan is in an elevator with all of Shahid’s exes…
Karan asked Ishaan that if he was in an elevator with all of Shahid’s exes. However, before he can finish the question, Shahid interjected that it would be overcrowded. Ishaan says that yes I will suffocate and I will press the Emergency button.
Janhvi Kapoor’s number is saved by this name…
When Ishaan Khattar was asked what’s the name of Janhvi Kapoor in his phone he said ‘Aloo’ (Potato). Ishaan tells that once a time Janhvi was watching a building climbing on a stone and she said ‘Are Those Potatoes’, I laughed after hearing this and saved her number with this name.
Shahid, do you keep a count of your flop films?
Shahid had a mammoth success and a flop in 2018 – while ‘Padmaavat’ went on to become one of the biggest hits of the year, his solo film ‘Batti Gul Mater Chalu’ flopped. When Karan asked him if he keeps a count of his flops, Shahid said it is hard to keep count after 10 films.
Shahid Kapoor speaks on his ex- girlfriends
During rapid fire round when Karan asks Shahid to choose between Kareena and Priyanka whether who was more talented or hardworking. The actor said, “Kareena was talented, but Priyanka was more hardworking.”
Shahid again asked if you have the power to forget any one ex- girlfriend, who will forget Kareena or Priyanka? Shahid said on this – I had been with Kareena for a very long time, with Priyanka quite a while. Shahid says- whatever I am today is due to those experiences of Life. In this way I do not want to erase the memories of any ex.
Karan also asked the Shahid about the separation of his parents, Pankaj Kapoor and Neelima Azeem. “There’s a lot to learn. Everything that happens in our life is emotionally impactful. It’s all been a lot to learn.”
What’s the advice for Priyanka Chopra’s husband Nick Jonas….
In the rapid fire, Shahid also dished out an advice for Nick Jonas. His advice was, “Never back down buddy. You’re with the original Desi girl.”
In the game zone, both the brothers danced to different dance forms as part of the challenge. They did the famous floss step, then finally concluded the act by dancing to Shahid’s hit number ‘Gandi Baat’.
