Guess co-founder Paul Marciano hits back at Sports Illustrated cover girl Kate Upton for falsely accusing him of sexual harassment.
A week ago, model Kate Upton had publicly alleged Guess’ co-founder Paul Marciano for harassing women at work, tweeted with a hashtag #MeToo.
Paul Marciano has now slammed Kate Upton for her malicious and false allegations against him. Paul has released a lengthy statement proving his innocence and claiming Kate for defamation.

“Five days ago, Kate Upton tweeted that I abused my position at Guess to ‘sexually and emotionally harass women.’ Ms Upton provided no details. Just the hashtag ‘#MeToo.’ She levelled this malicious and false accusations only hours before a gala event at our headquarters in Los Angeles unveiling a new Guess campaign. That same evening, she told TMZ that ‘I’m excited to tell my whole story.’”
“As of today, Ms Upton still has provided no facts, no details, no dates and no circumstances to back anything she has alleged,” the statement continued. “I am told that she has been working with others for some time to defame me and will claim that I groped her and other things. The accusation is false. I have never touched Kate Upton. I have never been alone with Kate Upton. I have never acted inappropriately towards her.”
He further added, “many models, photographers, stylists and others” contacted him offering their support.”
“I fully support the #MeToo movement,” Mr Marciano continued. “At the same time, I will not stand by and watch my reputation be tarnished. I have pledged to the Guess Board of Directors that I will fully co-operate with a fair and impartial investigation into all of the facts. I have complete trust and confidence that the actual facts — not unverified tweets or uncorroborated Instagram posts — will prove that the accusations against me are untruthful.”
Paul Marciano have claimed that Kate Upton’s tweet has caused him defamation and online bully. The allegations have also caused the shares of Guess falling down.
Kate had tweeted accusing Paul Marciano saying, ‘It’s disappointing that such an iconic women’s brand @Guess is still empowering Paul Marciano as their creative director #metoo.’ And shared the same on her Instagram account with a caption, ‘He shouldn’t be allowed to use his power in the industry to sexually and emotionally harass women #metoo’
