Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan luckily escapes a big accident last week after one of the rear wheels of his Mercedes came off. Yes, that did happen! According to media reports, Big B had recently visited Kolkata on an invitation from the state government for the inaugural programme of the 23rd Kolkata International Film Festival. The megastar was heading to the airport after attending the event when the incident took place on Saturday morning. Mr. Bachchan was accompanied by a senior state minister in the car.
“The wheel on the left rear-end of the Mercedes carrying Bachchan got detached from the vehicle on Dufferin Road when he was going to the airport to catch a flight for Mumbai on Saturday morning,” a senior official at the Secretariat confirmed the incident to PTI on Wednesday night.
“The car was provided by a travel agency and we have show-caused it over the incident,” he said adding that the agency was paid a huge amount for transporting the superstar.

Reports suggest that after the investigation, it came to notice that service fitness of the car had expired long back, which means that the car was due for service. If the service had happened on time, the accident had not taken place.
After miraculous escaping the accident in the city, Big B headed to the airport in the minister’s vehicle.
However, Big B is in Mumbai today to celebrate his granddaughter Aaradhya’s birthday.
