Veteran Actor Dilip Kumar Hospitalized; Diagnosed With Pneumonia

Actor Dilip Kumar hospitalized due to chest infection; diagnosed mild pneumonia.

Veteran Bollywood actor Dilip Kumar has been admitted to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital after he complained of feeling uneasy and breathless post a chest infection. The news was first shared on the yesteryear’s actor Twitter account and then later confirmed by Dilip Kumar’s close friend Faisal Farooqui.

Dilip Kumar’s official Twitter handle stated: “Saab has been admitted to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital as he was bit uneasy due to a chest infection. He’s recuperating. Requesting your duas and prayers.” (sic)

Later the ‘Mughal-E-Azam’ actor’s close friend Faisal Farooqui further informed us of the severity of the situation. Through his Twitter handle Faisal stated that Dilipsaab has been admitted to Bandra’s Lilavati hospital due to breathlessness.

After stating that the actor has blessed with a wonderful set of people— Faisal Farooqui further urged the masses to pray for the veteran actor’s speedy recovery and good health.

Faisal Farooqui also revealed that Dilip Kumar keeps on visiting Lilavati hospital for his routinely check-ups. As for now Dilip Kumar has been kept under observation to determine the exact cause of his breathlessness.

“He is doing better now. The medical reports are saying a small patch of pneumonia is there. God willing, he will be out of it soon. But he is doing fine ,” Saira Banu told.

Last year in August too, Dilip Kumar was admitted to the hospital due to a urinary tract infection which further weakened his health. During that time Bollywood actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra and Shah Rukh Khan visited the ailing actor and prayed for his speedy recovery.

Dilip Kumar is not only a revered actor in India but is respected all around the world for his talent. The vetran actor has been awarded with the Padma Vibhushan (second highest civilian award given for exceptional and distinguished service), Padma Bhushan (third highest civilian award given to those who perform distinguished service of a high order), Dadasaheb Phalke Award (highest award given to the contributors of Indian Cinema) and Pakistan’s Nishan-e-Imtiaz Award (Order of Excellence).
