The executive producer of Ek Veer Ki Ardaas…Veera Mukesh Mishra is convicted of raping a 31-year-old actress and jailed seven years of imprisonment. 

Popular show ‘Ek Veer Ki Ardaas Veera’s’ executive producer Mukesh Mishra was found guilty for raping an actress who was then a part of the same show. On Wednesday July 25, a special women’s court sentenced Mukesh with seven years of imprisonment.

Mukesh Mishra was charged and found guilty under IPC sections 376 (rape) and 506(II) (criminal intimidation). In addition to this the producer has been asked to pay Rs 5000 as penalty.

As per the victim’s statement, back in 2012 Mukesh asked her to be present near Mumbai’s Jogeshwari Railway station where a bus was supposed to pick up and drop the artists to the shooting location in Powai.

However, when the 31-year-old actress reached the station— Mukesh Mishra was waiting for her. The executive producer claimed that the bus had left without her and later he urged the actress that she should go with him on his motorbike.

Upon reaching the shoot location the actress found no one at the studio apart from a lone sweeper. Swiftly the actress went towards her make-up room where Mukesh Mishra followed her and raped her.

As per the anonymous actress ‘complaint, after the horrendous act Mukesh Mishra threatened her that he would kill her daughter and defame her if she disclosed what happened in the make-up room.

This was not all, later Mukesh kept on pestering the actress by asking her to perform sexual acts on him. Frustrated and scared the actress reported the executive producer to the show’s management. Soon after Mukesh was sacked, however he still kept on blackmailing the actress.

Mukesh Mishra was sentenced as the testimony of the lone sweeper was recorded in the court. As per the testimony the sweeper saw Mukesh follow the actress and enter the make-up room. Clearly, the actress’ statement and the sweeper’s testimony match. The court also relied upon the register that the actress and the producer singed while entering the studio.
