American TV host Charlie Rose, 75 has been suspended from CBS following allegations of sexual misconduct.
The ‘A’ List names under sexual harassment and misconduct is getting bigger as more women are coming forward with their bitter experiences. To name a few, just after entertainment czar Harvey Weinsten, Kevin Spacey Bill Cosby found guilty of sexual harassment, TV legend Charlie Rose becomes the latest to join the ‘A’ list of sexual predator.
You heard that right. The 75-year-old Charlie Rose is been accused of sexual misconduct. Eight women – who all worked or wanted to work for his PBS programs came forward alleging Charlie Rose of making unwanted sexual advances. Charlie Rose is been fired from the co-host of flagship breakfast TV show CBS This Morning after his “extremely disturbing and intolerable behaviour” revealed.
As per Washington Post reports, Charlie Rose took undue advantage on his co-workers making unwanted sexual advances between late 90’s and 2011 during self-titled show on PBS. The investigation reports also accused Charlie Rose of Groping woman’s breast and genitalia and making obscene calls during odd hours.
No women want to reveal their names but it seems they all belonged to age group of 21 and 37 at the time of the alleged misconduct.
Not just CBS but, PBS too have cut off their relations with Charlie Rose by cancelling their distribution deal for his nightly interview show.
Gayle King, fellow co-host at CBS This Morning rebuked Charlie Rose for his such distasteful behavior on Tuesday morning show.
Rose released a statement yesterday accepting his faults and apologized claiming that not all allegations were true.
He said,
“It is essential that these women know I hear them and that I deeply apologise for my inappropriate behaviour,” he said.
“I am greatly embarrassed. I have behaved insensitively at times, and I accept responsibility for that, though I do not believe that all of these allegations are accurate.
“I always felt that I was pursuing shared feelings, even though I now realise I was mistaken.”
Charlie Rose is one of respectful media personalities in the US. Rose had earlier invited on his show former PM Manmohan Singh and former Finance Minister P Chidambaram.
After earning himself an admirable career of 45 years in American journalism, his misconduct behaviour put himself in deep shame.
