Our heart aches and goes for the yesteryear actress Geeta Kapoor, who was left by her children to die alone during her bad health times. Last year, we were taken aback when the news of Pakeezah actress’ Geeta Kapoor’s where bouts revealed stating that she was tortured and then her son left her in a hospital alone without paying bills and never returned back.
In a statement given by Geeta Kapoor in May 2017, “He used to beat me up as I did not approve of his philandering ways. He would give me food once in four days, and sometimes, even lock me up for several days. I was not ready to go to an old-age home, that’s why, he planned all this. He deliberately kept me hungry and I fell ill. Then, he got me admitted and fled.”

Veteran actor Geeta Kapoor died on Saturday morning at a Mumbai hospital aged 67. In May last year, her son left her alone at the hospital who never returned back to check on her and since then, Ashoke Pandit and Ramesh Taurani took all the financial responsibility of Geeta Kapoor. For the past one year, Pandit took care of all the bills and shifted the actress to old age home, where she breathed her last.
Former CBFC member Ashok Pandit gave a statement to Indian Express, “Geeta ji finally passed away, we tried our level best to care for her, but she finally gave up. She kept waiting for her children for last one full year, but no one came to meet her.”
Speaking to Indian Express, Pandit revealed that Geeta had been waiting for her kids to return.
“Only last Saturday we had arranged a grand breakfast to cheer her up, she was okay too, but she was not happy from inside, as she wanted to see her children one last time,” he said.
He also tweeted about Pakeezah actress Geeta Kapoor’s death, “Standing besides the dead body of Actress #GeetaKapoor 57 who was abandoned by her kids in #SRVHospital a year back breathed her last at a suburban Old age home today morning. We tried our best to keep her healthy but her wait for her Son&daughter made her weaker day by day. #RIP.” The filmmaker thanked producer Taurani and said the actor’s body will be kept at a hospital for two days so that the actor’s family will come and do her last rites. He wrote, “Her body will be kept at Cooper Hospital Vileparle for two days hoping her Children to come and atleast do the last rites Otherwise We wl do our best to bid her a dignified good bye.. Thank U #DrTripathi SRV Hospital @MumbaiPolice #JivanAshaoldHome for being a great help. #RIP.”

Geeta Kapoor was waiting to see her children even till her last breath who never returned to see their ill mother. What a cruel pain did the children of Pakeezah fame Geeta Kapoor’s children gave to their mother. We hope and pray that let her soul find the peace which she was wanting while she was alive.
