Sushmita Sen who was crowned as Miss Universe in 1994 was one among other co-judges for this year’s pageant judge panel with two other former Miss Universe winners, Dayanara Torres (1993) and Leila Lopes (2011). It was nostalgic moment for Sushmita Sen to embrace and walk the aisle of those special moments when 22 years back she was crowned as Miss Universe in Philippines. It was like living those special moment once again. Sushmita Sen was first Indian crowned as Miss Universe.

Miss Universe 2017 crown is taken by dental student Iris Mittenaere from France which was held in Philippines. Mittenaere had mentioned in her profile that if she wins the crown, she would “advocate for dental and oral hygiene.”
Talking about her failure in life, Iris Mittenaere said, “I’ve failed several times in my life,” Mittenaere said without elaborating but added that “when you fail, you have to be elevated and you have to try again and keep going … I have failed before but for me this is the great first opportunity.”
