If you are living under a rock, Kangana Ranaut had lashed at Karan Johar by calling him ‘flag-bearer of nepotism’ and ‘Bollywood mafia’. Kangana had last year targeted Hrithik Roshan and the two had a nasty public spat. The fights and allegations went on for couple of months.
This year while promoting Rangoon movie with Shahid Kapoor in lead role, Kangana did not spare Udta Punjab actor. She commented on his decision for arranged marriage, calling him moody and even compared with Hrithik. The differences between co-actors went to the extent where Shahid had strictly asked to arrange interviews and promotions for the film separately. It was yet not finished and Queen actress took a sly dig at Karan Johar on his own show ‘Koffee With Karan 5’. Unhappy Karan gave it back to Kangana and said she should leave Bollywood. Directly! Or indirectly! Many Bollywood actors shared their opinion and views on Kangana’s ‘Nepotism’ remark. Alia Bhatt gave her opinion on nepotism saying, ‘I didn’t plan my birth in the Bhatt family’ . Aamir Khan didn’t share anything specific on Karan or Kangana, but said that ‘it’s human nature to help and care for the people you love’.
Amid all this, Sonam Kapoor has shared her views on the whole fiasco in one of her interview. Here it is –
“I said it was very entertaining. Every morning I wake up and it’s great bathroom reading. It’s mudslinging of the worst kind. I don’t know Kangana. I know Karan very well. I find Kangana very entertaining and that’s about it. I don’t want to comment on something that looks opportunistic, honestly. And I believe you are a feminist when you build other people up, especially other women. All I can say is that I respect the choices that she has made in her career till now. I made a decision when I was very young after my second or first Koffee With Karan – it was that I would not do mudslinging when other actors and actresses are concerned because I would not do it for TRP’s, I would not do it for a channel and I felt if I have to give an opinion or be opinionated, it would have to be for something that is relevant and I don’t think dragging someone down or criticizing someone or having this public spat – I find it very distasteful. You can set examples without washing your dirty linen in public.”
Bingo!! Did Sonam Kapoor just read our minds!? What she said is apt.
PS -Karan and Kangana, hope you both will stop bothering public and carry your fights in private.
