South’s popular music composer-violinist Balabhaskar and his family met with an accident in Pallipuram near Thiruvananthapuram during the wee hours of Tuesday morning. He and his wife Lakshmi are still under observation given their critical condition due to their extensive injuries but their two-year-old daughter, Tejasvini has passed away.
Reportedly, in the early hours of Tuesday morning, Balabhaskar along with his wife Laxmi, their now deceased daughter Tejasvini and their driver were in a car when it hit a near by tree with force. A highway patrol unit responded immediately and took them to the nearest hospital.
As per reports, the family of three was travelling back after visiting a temple in Thrissur. The Mangalapuram police told The News Minute, “We assume that the driver dozed off, which caused the accident. The family was returning from Thrissur after visiting a temple.”
While two-year-old Tejasvini’s mortal remains are still in the hospital—her parents,Balabhaskar-Lakshmi and their driver are receiving treatment for their extensive injuries.
Balabhaskar is extremely famous due to his stage performances and promotion of fusion music in South. Introduced to musical instruments at the tender of 3, Balabhaskar began his musical career at the age of 12. At 17 he was the youngest music composer for a Malayalam film ‘Mangalya Pallak’.
While we can only hope to the understand the pain of Balabhaskar and his wife Lakshmi—we wish them a speedy recovery. May they find strength during this difficult time.
