Shilpa Shetty’s sister and actress Shamita Shetty and her driver, Darshan Sawant were verbally abused in a road rage incident near Viviana Mall in Thane, Mumbai. The incident took place around 1.30 pm after a motorist rammed his car into Shetty’s vehicle. The motorist was accompanied by two of his friends, who were riding pillion.
According to TOI, Shamita filed a complaint at the Rabodi police station against the three yet-to-be-identified men. Sawant, who was threatened and slapped by the men, has provided the police with their vehicle details.
According to a police officer, the 39-year-old actress was in Thane for some personal work when the biker allegedly rammed into the car. Sawant stopped the car to inspect the damage. The three accused in other vehicle too alighted and reportedly picked up a fight.
A case has been registered under sections 279, 323, 504, 506, 427 and 34 of the Indian Penal code. No one was injured in the incident, informed the police.
On the professional front, Shamita Shetty made her Bollywood debut with 2000’s “Mohabbatein”, and currently she entered the stunt-based reality show “Khatron Ke Khiladi 9” as wild card entry.
