After Arunabh Kumar, ScoopWhoop Co-Founder Suparn Pandey Accused Of Sexual Harassment

While the sexual harassment case against TVF (The Viral Fever) owner Arunabh Kumar has barely been recovered, another such incident has come to the light. One more high profile sexual harassment case at the workplace has made it to the news to give us a fresh jolt.

According to Catch News, ScoopWhoop co-founder Suparn Pandey has been accused by a former employee of sexual harassment and sexual assault across a span of almost two years. Just a couple of weeks after Arunabh’s case, another such shocking incident has left us questioned if females are safe at their workplace?

The FIR has not only been filed against ScoopWhoop co-founder Suparn Pandey, even his other co-founders Sattvik Mishtra and Sriparna Tikedar have been named of abetting the harassment.

As per media reports, a FIR has been filed by a former senior executive of ScoopWhoop Media Pvt. Ltd at the VasantKunj (South) police Station, Delhi. The accused has been charged under section 354 A (sexual harassment), section 509 (insulting the modesty of a woman), and section 506 (criminal intimidation), reported Catch News.  

 “Mr. Suparn Pandey in public commented on my sexuality and this comment included calling me names (sic.) which reflected on my sexual orientation and my se*ual preferences (sic.) as well as characterized me in a certain way”, states the FIR. 

The complainant has also mentioned that Pandey sent her lewd messages on the official Gmail chat and kept humiliating her at the Office. She event complained to the fellow co-founders, however, they eventually threatened to malign her professionally if she would not stop complaining about the problems she is facing at the workplace.

ScoopWhoop has then released an official statement against the sexual harassment “ensuring a safe and secure workplace for all our employees and takes any complaints of harassment extremely seriously.”

TVF and ScoopWhoop incidents are a wake-up call and one does not need to come up with blog posts to let the world know their problems.
