Through a Facebook post Vinta disclosed to the world that she was brutalized and raped by the lead of her hit TV show ‘Tara’— Alok Nath!

The filmmaker starts off by mentioning that her attacker’s wife and she were best of friends and that they had a same friend circle that consisted of celebrated names from the theatre industry.
Vinta recalls that Alok Nath was ‘after’ the main female lead of the hit TV show ‘Tara’— how he would ‘mess’ with her on the sets but everyone stayed silent because no one spoke of such things back then.
“He was an alcoholic, shameless and obnoxious but he was also the television star of that decade, so not only was he forgiven for all his bad behaviour but many of the guys would egg him on to be his worst. “
However, when enough was enough, the female lead complained to the makers of the show and they decided to let go of the actor. Upon learning this Alok Nath came to the set drunk one day and started feeling up the actress midway during the shot!

For this behaviour he was slapped by the actress and promptly asked to leave the set.
Vinta further writes about her struggles to keep ‘Tara’ and her other shows on-air but ultimately her production company was shut down and her on-going shows were pulled down.
The filmmaker recalls that fateful night in her post by stating that she had gone to a party at Alok Nath’s house along with their groups of friends. However, soon she noticed that she was feeling strange as her drinks were mixed and none of her friends offered to drop her home. As she started walking towards her home she was stopped by the sanskaari babuji as he offered to drop her home in his car.

All Vinta remembers from that night is that more alcohol was poured into her mouth and that she was violated in her own home.
“When I woke up the next afternoon, I was in pain. I hadn’t just been raped, I was taken to my own house and had been brutalized. I couldn’t get up for my bed.”
When she told her friends of the incident she was told to forget about it and move on.
As per the post, Alok Nath created such situations for Vinta at her new workplace that she had to go along with the actor to get ‘violated’ for the sake of her job.
Towards the end of the post, Vinta wrote, “For someone like me who was fearless and could talk to large audiences for hours, it is something that bothers me so I’m working on it.The only reason I’m telling this story now is because I don’t want that any girl should ever fear holding the truth back.”
Vinta further encouraged girls and young women that they shouldn’t hold back as, “this is a moment for change so your silence will only hold barriers to its evolution.”
While nowhere in the post Vinta mentions Alok Nath by his name but it becomes easier to guess as lengthy post continues, however all the doubts were cleared when the filmmaker concluded the post with this statement:
“Irony is that the man, the predator in question here is the actor par excellence who is known as the most #Sanskaari (Cultured) person in the film and television industry.”

After receiving heat and backlash from Tara serial co-stars to celebrities to journalists, Alok Nath have finally reacted to Vinta Nanda’s rape allegations.
He spoke to Aaj Tak and said, “In the current situation, if a women accuses a man, no one will consider to listen to a man’s version so it’s useless to react. I have known her. I would not like to comment on it. She has the right to put forward her thoughts. Right now, I am trying to come to terms with the whole thing. Will comment later.”
Alok Nath went to an extent saying that she should be thanking him for her success.
