Salman Khan is one such Bollywood actor who is a favourite among masses of all ages. From children’s love to adoration from female fans— Salman Khan has seen it all. When Bhai of Bollywood Salman Khan is not working on a blockbuster movie or his other humanitarian projects he is busy hosting reality television shows like ‘Dus Ka Dum’ and ‘Bigg Boss’.
However, his latest reality game show ‘Dus Ka Dum 3’ has not managed to grab eyeballs even with its finale near. Speaking with DNA, Salman Khan attributes the show’s Monday-Tuesday slot for its lukewarm response.
“Even I had thought it was a brilliant idea to slot it on those days because on weekends people have several things to do. I thought ki log ghar baith ke dekh sakte hain at the beginning of the week. Lekin that didn’t happen because the awareness was not there.”
The actor-reality TV host further explained how he created awareness about the show hence bringing up its ratings to 1.7-1.8, “The makers got to know something was amiss in the second or third week and they started checking. They decided to shift it to Saturday-Sunday, which was much riskier. But they got their promotions correct this time.”
While ‘Dus Ka Dum 3’ is trudging on towards it finale episode, the masses are more excited about ‘Bigg Boss’ season 12’s premiere.
When asked what has brought him back to host Bigg Boss consecutively for nine years, Salman Khan said that its intriguing to watch different behaviour of the contestants on the show under such pressure. Talking about it further Salman said unlike other hosts he gets involved in the ‘problems’ of the contestants as he cannot bear to see their parents and family suffer outside due to their right or wrong doings inside the BB house.
“If they do something that is not in our culture or go overboard then I step in for their sake. If those under the cameras inside the house are okay with behaving like that (badly) and people are watching them making it one of the highest-rated shows, obviously everyone is enjoying it.”
Talking about his latest film directed by Ali Abbas Zafar film ‘Bharat’— few weeks back Salman Khan was in Malta with his family filming for the multi-starrer. The makers of the movie released a still featuring Salman Khan and a green lehenga clad Katrina Kaif— and we could not help but wonder how would Priyanka Chopra look in that avatar.
When asked about Priyanka Chopra’s decision to leave ‘Bharat’ mere days before its filming, Salman Khan said that they were ‘destroyed’ that PeeCee was not in the movie but they had to handle it. Explaining further, “She (Priyanka Chopra) had a genuine problem at that point of time, but it’s just that we should have known it slightly earlier. But I am sure it’s okay, hope that film (with Chirs Pratt) works out for her.”
“I’m glad Katrina is part of the film. She was Atul’s first choice. But Priyanka called Ali and said she wanted to do Bharat, so we considered her,” he said
Clearly there is no bad blood between Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra as the ‘Dabangg’ star’s sister Arpita Khan Sharma and brother-in-law Ayush Sharma attended the global actress’ engagement party.
In the meanwhile, we will see Salman Khan return to the small screen from September 16, 2018 with Bigg Boss 12.
