Bollywood actor Salman Khan is not only known to break his own Box Office records but also for breaking records of other films. This trend has been going since years. However, Salman Khan’s this year’s first release Tubelight couldn’t live up to audience expectations and has underperformed at the Box Office. The word of mouth around the film has been poor, which has eventually resulted in the film’s business all over.
Now according to reports, Salman Khan already had a hunch that Tubelight is going to be a flop. A close friend of Salman revealed to Deccan Chronicle that the superstar was not very keen to do the film. “He wasn’t too keen on doing this film with Kabir. There was another script that Kabir had wanted to do with Salman. But Salman felt it required too much physical effort to go into the other project. So he picked this one just because it was physically less strenuous than Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai,” DC quoted one of Salman’s friends.
The report also suggests that Salman Khan insisted on doing an innocent role again after Bajrangi Bhaijaan. “Salman wanted to build on the image of the innocent do-gooder, who helps bring people together. That image really worked for him in Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Tubelight was like the third part of Salman’s trilogy of innocence, a counter-point to Shah Rukh’s evil trilogy of Darr, Baazigar and Anjaam that came 20 years ago.”
Well well, all said and done! Looks like director Kabir Khan is now going to face the brunt of the blame game. What do you think?
