Rio Olympics medalist, Sakshi Malik tied the knot on April 2 with grappler Satyawart Kadian. The two married each other in a grand wedding ceremony in Sakshi Malik’s hometown on Sunday evening followed by the reception. Two months after she won the Olympic medal, Sakshi got engaged to grappler Satyawart Kadian in October last year.(Also Read: Congrats in Order! The ceremony was attended by few from the sports fraternity and many missed it. India’s two-time Olympic medalist Sushil Kumar was also a part of the grand wedding ceremony. The list of invitees also included fellow Rio Olympics medallist (silver) PV Sindhu, but she could not be a part of the wedding as she was playing her India Open final in the capital on Sunday. Many others were invited for the wedding. However, only a handful guests turned up for Sakshi’s big day.
Sakshi’s husband Kadian became popular when he won a bronze medal at the 2010 Youth Olympics. He also owns Junior World Championship bronze medal. Sakshi and Satyawart Kadian met each other during 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
Many sports personalities took to twitter to congratulate Sakshi on her big day. Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag, boxer Vijender Singh, gymnast Dipa Karmakar, shuttler Saina Nehwal, para-athlete Deepa Malik and others congratulated the newly married couple.
