When we get to see really well to-do business persons and movie stars held for such immoral activity, we should not blame general public in that case for tampering electricity meter. Yesteryear actress Rati Agnihotri and her husband Anil Virvahi have been booked for tampering electricity wires and theft of energy worth Rs.48.96 lakhs.
The whole thing came in the limelight when the electricity team of Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST) gave a visit at their Worli residence and noticed that the wires have been tampered. Rati Agnihotri and her husband Anil both have been booked for 1,77,647 units of electricity usage outstanding which they did by tampering meter since April 2013.
“We have registered an offence against the accused persons on the complaint of electricity engineer and further investigation is on,” said Pravin Padwal, Deputy Commissioner of Police.
