T Series and other music companies unlisted video songs of Pakistani singers Rahat and Atif’s songs from YouTube after MNS issued warning post Pulwama terror attack.
In the wake of the deadliest terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) asked music label companies to stop working with Pakistani artists.
Amey Khopkar, head of the MNS Chitrapat Sena told PTI in a statement that “We have verbally communicated to Indian music companies like T-Series, Sony Music, Venus, Tips Music etc to not work with Pakistani singers. These companies should stop it immediately or we will take action in our own style.”
Post MNS’s warning , Bhushan Kumar’s music company T-Series who had collaborated with Rahat Fateh and Atif Aslam for two different singles ‘Zindagi’ and ‘Baarishein’, removed their songs from the company’s YouTube channel.
T-Series was going to release Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s new song ‘Zindagi’ on 15th February. Singer tweeted on 14th February in which he had told that T-Series is releasing his song. But now Music Company has removed Singer’s Music Video from company’s YouTube channel as well as from other social media portals.
‘Dil Diyan Gallan’ fame Atif Aslam’s new song titled ‘Baarishein’, featuring Bollywood actress Nushrat Bharucha, was released on the channel on Valentine’s Day evening, also gets removed from the channel.
In 2016, after deadly terrorist attack in Uri, Raj Thackeray’s MNS had issued a 48-hour ultimatum to Pakistani actors including Mahira Khan, Fawad Khan, Ali Zafar and singers including Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Atif Aslam to leave India or else they would be “pushed out”. Pak actors Fawad Khan (Ae Dil Hai Mushkil) and Mahira Khan (Raees) left their film’s promotion in between and returned to their country.
