Akshay Kumar starrer PadMan will hit the Indian cinemas today, Feb 09. PadMan which also stars Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte besides Akshay Kumar is Bollywood’s first movie to release in Russia, Iraq and Ivory Coast on the same day as India.
Twinkle Khanna, who is making her debut as producer with R. Balki’s PadMan is on cloud nine as people are already raving about the movie. Many Bollywood actors accepted the #PadManChallenge and posted a photo with sanitary pads.
Akshay Kumar starrer PadMan film is about social cause addressing menstrual hygiene in rural and urban India. The movie is based on a real life person Arunachalam Muruganantham, who went against all the societal odds and invented a machine to manufacture low cost sanitary pads.

It is not the first movie where Akshay Kumar is addressing social stigma. He has earlier acted in a super-hit movie Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, which showed a mirror to the people about how women go through an embarrassment and inconvenience when toilets are not available in your house premises.
PadMan, another social cause movie will break all the records and will become Bollywood’s first movie to release in Russia, Ivory Coast and Iraq on the same day as it hits the screens in India. Twinkle Khanna tweeted the news and she is so so pleased with it.
“I once told my PadMan that I will take him places… Well, not only will PadMan release in 50 countries all over the world but It is Bollywood’s first film that will be releasing day and date in Russia, Ivory Coast and even Iraq,” Twinkle tweeted on Wednesday.
