Will #NoteBan Step Taken By PM Narendra Modi Affect The Box Office Collections Of Rock On 2, Dear Zindagi?

Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a massive step and announced that Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes have been banned in a bid to stamp out black money, fake notes, and corruption. The huge decision was taken on Tuesday evening and the ban was imposed from Wednesday, leaving people in chaos. Now, the fresh set of Rs.500 and Rs.2000 notes have been released but has the ban affected the upcoming Bollywood films? In fact, Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh took to Twitter to raise a very relevant question. He asked, “Will the #NoteBan affect new releases at the box office for the next few weeks?”

With upcoming film Rock On 2 starring Shraddha Kapoor, Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal released today on November 11 and Dear Zindagi releasing on November 23rd, will these film lose out to mint money at the Box office due to ban? As per the current situation, the film’s initial collections might surely get affected as there are majority of people in the country who are not completely aware of using plastic money or Internet banking.

For any movie buff, who wants to buy a ticket with Rs. 500 and Rs 1000 will have to buy online now until the fresh notes are in hand. While it will take quite some time to get smaller denominations of money, people might not choose to watch the film or buy the ticket from the ticket counter.

Now it remains to see if the ban works in the favor of these movies at eventual box office gross or no. On the other hand, the musical film has a good chance to earn well in the overseas market.
