Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding is just two days to go
Seems like no wedding is complete without some family drama and the British Royal family is no exception to this rule! Suits actress Meghan Markle is all set to marry her long-time beau— Britain’s Prince Harry on May 19 at St. George’s Chapel but it is not as rosy as it seems.
Mere days before the royal wedding Kensington Palace issued a statement stating that Meghan Markle’s father Thomas Markle will not be attending the wedding or walking her down the aisle. This news came as a surprise as it was earlier announced that Thomas Markle will be attending the wedding and meeting the Queen along with rest of the Royal family with his ex-wife, Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland.

Earlier the rumoured reason cited for Thomas’s absence was a heart attack that he reportedly suffered just days before.However, the situation took an ugly turn as it was revealed that he along with the American-bride-to-be’s half-sister Samantha Markle staged paparazzi shots with a picture agency for a large sum of money!

It was after this incident that the Kensington Palace issued the statement regarding Thomas Markle’s absence at the upcoming wedding and further added, “She (Meghan Markle) and Prince Harry ask again for understanding and respect to be extended to Mr. Markle in this difficult situation.”
Post the release of the statement, appearing on a talk show, Samantha Markle said, “I have to say I am entirely the culprit,” She further explained, “So I said, really you need to show the world that you’re getting in shape and doing great healthy things. So, I suggested it. There’s a lot of scrutiny that it was money motivated, it was not. It was my suggestion that to benefit him and to benefit the royal family that everyone looked good and they depict you as you are – in shape and doing healthy things.”
However Thomas Markle’s heart-attack news turns out to be true. Thomas released a statement to TMZ saying, “They [doctors] will go in and clear blockage, repair damage and put a stent where it is needed.”
Shortly after news broke about Thomas’ operation on Tuesday, Samantha told Sunrise Channel 7 that her father had sent her a message confirming that he will have heart surgery. Samantha added that Thomas has been under a tremendous amount of stress amidst health challenges, saying she hoped he pulls through this now and can still go to the wedding.
If one is hoping for a happy reconciliation at Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Royal wedding, sorry to rain on your parade— Kensington Place has issued no statements post Samantha’s candid interview. Howevergood the motive may have been, we say that the damage has been done.
