Amidst of Simran row, Ketan Mehta issues legal notice to Kangana Ranaut for stealing Rani of Jhansi movie project. According to National award winner Ketan Mehta, Kangana has hijacked the project from him and announced the same with a different name and with another director, Krrish.
Kangana Ranaut is famously called as controversy queen now. In just 24 hours of time, we see two different allegations coming up against Kangana. Just after Apurva Asrani revealed that Kangana took away his work of credit, Ketan Mehta has sent out legal notice to Kangana Ranaut alleging that the actor conspired with producer Kamal Jain and hijacked his Rani of Jhansi – The Warrior Queen project.
Two years back, Ketan Mehta had approached Kangana to play Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi with a rough script to which she had agreed. Ketan was shocked to see that Kangana used his research work and announced a banner under her name on the life of Jhansi. Ketan wants Kangana’s movie Manikarnika to be scrapped.
Ketan Mehta told, “Yes it is true. We have sent a notice to Kangana as I think there is an attempt of hijacking a film.
This is regarding my project called Rani of Jhansi: The Warrior Queen and her (Kangana’s) attempt and the producer Kamal Jain at hijacking the project. Since 2015, I was in contact with Kangana for the project. I was sharing research material and several drafts of the script with Kangana and she was actively participating.”
He also added, “I had approached her in June 2015 regarding this project and she had readily agreed to do it and enough statements have been made by her showing the commitment about the project.
“We also shared the script, certain research material and a lot of discussion had happened. After this, suddenly we hear that she is doing a project with some other producer. I find this completely unethical.
Ketan Mehta’s films like Sardar (on the life of Sardar Patel), Maya Memsaab, and Manjhi- The Mountain Man are acclaimed internationally.
Kangana Ranaut is yet to respond to Ketan Mehta’s allegations.
