Karan Johar himself had lashed at Kangana defending himself on Anupama Chopra’s show in London. He said many non-film background people were given the chance to direct movies and that’s proves there is no nepotism. Assertively saying that she doesn’t know the meaning of ‘Nepotism’. He even asked Kangana to leave the Bollywood.
Now, here comes as backfire at Karan Johar from the old video of 2014. Karan Johar in this video had clearly admitted that he is guilty of being nepotistic and where talent is least considered.

Karan is clearing heard saying that, “For Alia’s part in Student Of The Year, I saw 400 girls, and out of the entire lot, I picked up a chubby girl. May be the fact that she is Mahesh Bhatt’s daughter also excited me. Right now, I would want to say no. But may be at it would have been a very strong sub layer. And that is nepotism. And we are guilty. And I am definitely guilty.”
On Varun, “Would I have cast Varun Dhawan had he was not been David Dhawan’s son? Because he was David Dhawan’s son is the reason he was on my set as an assistant director, and that is why I spent enough time with him to know that if he could be a movie star.”
The filmmaker further said, “It’s a lot to do with the fact that there are too many factors in this country that determine movie stardom. And i think true talent is the least of them. This is truly tragic. Would I have been a filmmaker? I’m a producer’s son. I had no experience, I was an assistant on one film. My father had the platform to give me, therefore I’m a filmmaker. So if I go through any struggle, I deserve it.”
