As we all know, last week Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam stirred a storm on social media by tweeting against waking up to the ‘azaan’ call. In a series of his tweets, Sonu Nigam had described the use of loudspeakers and also termed the whole practice as “forced religiousness.” Well, soon Sonu Nigam’s tweets turned out to be a hot topic of discussion in the industry as well as among the fans on social media.
The playback singer had also got his head tonsured in response to a cleric, who had announced Rs 10 lakh reward for anyone who would get Nigam’s head shaved. Sonu Nigam himself got his head shaved by a celebrity hairstylist at his house in Mumbai.
Well, each one has been sharing their point of view over Sonu Nigam’s tweets. Recently at an event, Bollywood actress, Kangana Ranaut was asked to comment on the whole issue. Kangana told reporters at the launch of Aditya Birla Group’s Liva Creme, “I can’t speak for anyone, but I really love azaan… even when we were shooting in Lucknow I loved the sound of it. I’m speaking for myself. Be it any religious activity, be it any gurudwaras, temples or mosques I love them. I visit all these places. We even go for Christmas mass.”

Kangana Ranaut also added saying that the singer has his point of view and that it should be respected rather making it a controversy. The Queen actress further stated, “But that’s not to say what he is saying shouldn’t be considered, that’s his opinion and he should be respected for that. And that’s the idea of bringing it on social media so that it can be discussed.”
