FIR Filed Against Shilpa Shetty and Her Husband Raj Kundra In Rs. 24-Lakh Cheating Case

Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty Kundra and her husband Raj Kundra have fallen in legal trouble. The couple, who own a shopping channel, have been booked in a cheating case by a textile firm dealer. Reportedly, Shilpa and her husband along with other three directors of the Best Deal TV have been booked for allegedly cheating a textile firm owner of Rs 24 lakh.

“They bought bedsheets worth Rs 1.5 crore from me in 2015. I handed over the items to them, for which they paid Rs1.44 crore in January 2016,” said complainant Ravi Mohanlal Bhalotia.

“When I approached them, they made several false promises and convinced me to give them another consignment of bedsheets worth Rs 18 lakh in July 2016. But they never paid me for it,” Bhalotia said in his complaint

The Mumbai police on Thursday booked Shilpa Shetty, her businessman husband Raj Kundra and three others directors of an online shopping TV show Best Deal, in a cheating case. 

“FIR has been registered in Bhiwandi police station against Shetty and Kundra under sections 406 (criminal breach of trust), and 420 (cheating) of IPC,” Deputy Commissioner of Police Manoj Patil told PTI.

Reportedly, after conducting an initial investigation, the police has booked all the five on charges of cheating. However, no one is arrested as police will first send the notice to each one.
