Bollywood Actress Isha Koppikar Joins BJP, Months Ahead Of Lok Sabha Elections 2019

Bollywood actor Isha Koppikar joins BJP as head of transport women transport wing.

Bollywood actress Isha Koppikar, who is mainly recognized for her role in film “Ek Vivaah… Aisa Bhi”,  joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the presence of Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari in Mumbai, on Sunday. She has been appointed as the working president of Women Transport Wing of BJP.

“I will try my best to fulfill all the responsibilities the party gives me. I will also make sure that I can do all that is in my capacity to serve the country,” she said at Mumbai event.

Isha also took the Twitter and thanked the party for the “warm welcome” and said she looks forward to “serve the nation”.

The actress had started her career as a model and made her filmy debut with the 1998 Telugu film “Chandralekha”, co-starring alongside Nagarjuna. Isha made her Bollywood debut with an item song in Ram Gopal Varma’s film ‘Company’. She went on to act in approximately 48 films. She has also featured in several Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Marathi films as well.

Isha tied the knot with hotelier Timmy Narang in 2009 and gave birth to their daughter Rianna in July 2014.

The Bharatiya Janata Party has a several actors on its team, including veterans such as Hema Malini and Dharmendra. Actress Rupa Ganguly, best known for her rendition of Draupadi in B R Chopra’s hit television series Mahabharat, had joined the BJP in 2015. She is now a Rajya Sabha member. A few days ago, veteran actor Moushumi Chatterjee, who has acted in several major Hindi and Bengal films, joined the BJP in West Bengal.
