Beverely Hills’ Luke Perry Dead At 52; Ian Ziering, Leonardo DiCaprio, Molly Ringwald Pay Tribute

A few days before, we reported the Riverdale and Beverly Hills star suffering from a massive stroke due to which he was hospitalized. He was in the hospital since last week until the news of him succumbing to the heart attack came as a shock on Monday.

His publicist, Arnold Robinson had announced his stroke news and announced his death. The publicist further revealed that Luke was accompanied by his children, fiance, his ex-wife and with some other relatives and friends before he took his last breath.

As soon as the news broke out Perry’s cast and crew of Riverdale immediately wrote out on Twitter to offer their condolences. Mädchen Amick wrote:

“Love you Luke”followed by another tweet – ‏”Please. I beg of you to show Luke’s beautiful family the respect and privacy that they deserve during this devastating time. Sending love to them.”

The makers of the show also offered their prayers for Luke and reminisced the father figure he was to them Roberto Aguirre Sacasa wrote on his twitter: “So heartbroken about Luke. He was a father, brother, friend, and mentor. Each night before he had to shoot a scene, he’d call me and we’d talk about…everything. I will miss those calls. And my heart goes out to all his family and friends. ?”

Riverdale’s executive producers, Warner Bros., and The CW  also issued a condolence statement for Luke through the official twitter handle of the show :

Luke Perry’s co-stars from Beverly Hills 90210 too are deeply saddened and are in state of shock of Luke Perry’s untimely death. Ian Ziering, Joss Whedon, Molly Ringwald, Leslie Grossman, Leonardo DiCaprio and other Hollywood stars remembered Luke and offered their condolences on twitter.

“Dearest Luke, I will forever bask in the loving memories we’ve shared over the last thirty years. May your journey forward be enriched by the magnificent souls who have passed before you, just like you have done here, for those you leave behind,” tweeted Ian Ziering.

“My heart is broken. I will miss you so much Luke Perry. Sending all my love to your family.  #LukePerry” – tweeted Molly Ringwald.

 

Joss Whedon tweeted- “The first time I met Luke Perry we talked about what kind of movie we wanted “Buffy” to be. I asked if he’d ever seen “Near Dark” and he gave me a look of HOW DARE YOU SIR and I knew we’d get along. Funny, committed, and always gracious. He shouldn’t be gone.”

“When I was lucky enough to work with Luke Perry I told him about the pillow of his face I used to sleep with and he yelled “You are such a weirdo!” at me and it was the best. Sending love to his friends and family”,  tweeted Leslie Grossman.

“Luke Perry was a kindhearted and incredibly talented artist. It was an honor to be able to work with him. My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his loved ones”, wrote Leonardo DiCaprio.

“Dearest Luke- I am so heart broken and at a loss for words. You my friend were a mighty soul and have left your mark. My love and prayers to the family and all who loved you. RIP, wrote Gabrielle Carteris.

“Woke up this morning a ball of tears. Luke Perry was the kindest, warmest, most loving human being. He always went out of his way to make me feel safe, heard and seen in his presence. I love you so much Luke. Thank you for being a ray of light for me and so many”, -Asha Bromfield

“My entire high school experience was shaped by Brenda and Dylan. Now I have to hold my dear friend @theshando hand, while she mourns the loss of #lukeperry This is not how it’s supposed to happen. I hope his family knows many lives he touched. ‘I chose. I chose you. I want you. I’ve always wanted you’ – my favorite quote”, wrote Sarah Michelle.

Jon Cryer wrote: “I’m stunned. Such a lovely guy. With a wonderful sense of humor about fame and the pitfalls of Showbiz. This is just awful. #RIPLukePerry”

Christine Elise McCarthy, who worked with Luke together in Beverly Hills posted a picture with Luke and shared a heartbroken message on Instagram: “With the heaviest of hearts, I am stunned and devastated to tell you that Luke passed away. I am still in shock and I have no words beyond saying he was a truly kind gentleman. He will be mourned and missed by everyone who knew him and the millions who love him.”

RIP, dearie Luke. Your time here was far too short.

Luke Perry will always be remembered for his role in the show Beverly Hills and 90210. Currently, he was being seen on Riverdale as Archie Andrews’ father Fred. We will see Luke once again for the last time in the upcoming movie “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood”, directed by Quentin Tarantino’s which is set to release in mid of this year.
