It is a known fact that India and Pakistan are separated by borders but many would say that these two countries are united by creativity. Since many years several Pakistani artists have been welcomed in India to showcase their talents one such artist is singer Atif Aslam.
Atif Aslam has spread love in India by crooning some of the most romantic songs of this decade. Every time the singer has sung one of his songs he spreads more love with his art. While Atif is a celebrated singer in his country, currently Pakistan is not happy with him.
During the Pakistani Independence Day Parade Atif Aslam crooned one of his most famous romantic songs from Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif starrer ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’—Tera Hone Laga Hoon.
As soon as this circulated, many in Pakistan started questioning Atif Aslam’s patriotism. As a retaliation many took their hate to Twitter and have expressed their notion, “Zero respect for Atif Aslam!” and “Boycott Atif Aslam @itsaadee Ap Ne Dil Tor diya #boycottAtifAslam #AtifAslam.”
One enraged fan even tweeted, “@itsaadee has always preferred India Over Pakistan. Sorry Adeze but he worked for Money .Can u tell me how many songs he had sang for Pakistan ?He can sing songs for #Lollywood with low money but no he don’t care about Pakistan. He care for India.#AtifAslam”
While many are spouting hate, support is pouring in from both the counties for Atif.
“@itsaadee music is your passion. Dont allow haters to steal it from you. Their lives are boring. They want your life to be boring too. Keep singing in all languages. I love your songs with Maher Zain. #AtifAslam is best. Bulldoze the haters.”
“Shame on Media,Shame on peoples who are trolling @itsaadee for singing Bollywood songs in his concert….He is the most responsible man from Pakistan,I am indian but I am his Big fan because of his talent not for his nationality….We all #Aadeez will support him. #AtifAslam”
Not only his fans but also his contemporaries are supporting Atif Aslam.
Pakistani singer Shafqat Amanat Ali who has lent his voice to some beautiful Indian songs like ‘Bin Tere’ and ‘Tu Hi Mera’ tweeted:
I stand in support with @itsaadee for singing his songs at the parade. Music is not Indian or Pakistani. It is just music! Singers r synonymous with their songs which r loved equally by fans from every country. Should have briefed him if they wanted national songs #AtifAslam

Pakistani film critic Omair Alavi reminded the enraged people by stating that Pakistanis go to watch Indian movies and watch Indian television serials in their homes. He further added that art, film or music has no boundaries.
Overwhelmed by the love and support Atif Aslam posted a heartfelt message on Instagram. Through the post Atif expressed that he wishes that things will soon change under former cricketer Imran Khan’s rule as Pakistan’s Prime Minister. And that the people of ‘New Pakistan’ will give due respect to those who deserve it.
