The ban on Pak artists and ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ seriously getting ridiculous and come to think of it, even we are a tad fed up of reporting about it. But, this was Abhay Deol, a no nonsense man, who says what he wants to, without any ifs and buts. So we just had to tell you what was his reaction when someone asked him about the ongoing turmoil in the entertainment industry. His reply was pure gold. Read on to know.
In the video that surfaced, one of the journalists questioned the ‘Happy Bhag Jayegi’ actor as to what his views were on the whole debacle of banning Pakistani artistes. To everyone’s surprise, instead beating about the bush or avoiding it completely, or even coming up with an over-the-top nonsensical statement, Abhay was his usual quirky self, and made a point hard to ignore.
“I don’t take the government seriously because they’re only banning us from collaborating with artists. They are not banning businesses from doing business,” said the actor.
He further added, “Right now, it doesn’t look like you mean it. It’s just getting you publicity and making a lot of noise. But really, what’s the point? If you want to ban anything to do with Pakistan, then go the distance. Don’t just ban filmmakers. Why are you doing a half-hearted job? Ban the business dealings, the import, the exports because when you do half a job no one will take you seriously.”
Well, post that the actor started getting a lot of hate tweets, and even got ridiculed, but you got to admit, the man has a point.
