Salman Khan, Shilpa Shetty Summoned For Using ‘Derogatory’ Word!

Bollywood stars Salman Khan and Shilpa Shetty have fallen into trouble over a casteist comment that happened during an interview last month. A complaint has been registered against the actors for allegedly using ‘Bhangi’ word in a derogatory way and hurting the sentiments of Valmiki community. Even, the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) had asked for action to taken by the Information and Broadcasting Ministry. As per the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Prevention of Atrocities Act, 2015, an action has been taken against the two stars.

Reportedly, the actors have been issued summons by the deputy SP of Churu, Rajasthan for allegedly making derogatory remarks against a particular community.

However, Shilpa Shetty had later issued an apology on Twitter saying: “Some of my words from an interview in the past have been misinterpreted. It was never said with the intent of hurting anyone’s feelings… I apologize if they have. I’m proud to belong to a country that boasts of diverse castes and creeds and I respect each one of them.”
