Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar starrer Toilet: Ek Prem Katha finally released today. The buzz around the movie is strong and moreover because Toilet: Ek Prem Katha talks about a woman’s fight for most cardinal dignity, toilet. The team of the film should be appreciated for taking up the issues of sanitation and spreading out a powerful message in a form of a love story.

Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, the film is a simple, entertaining and engaging story about Jaya (Bhumi Pednekar) who puts up a fight with her husband Keshav (Akshay Kumar) after she discovers on the wedding night that he doesn’t have a toilet in his house. Akshay then runs through government offices and sets on a mission to win back his love by standing up to the age-old traditions and values of India.

The makers of the film have come up with a motive to change the mindset of the people.  The satirical comedy film, which also stars Anupam Kher, is also a part of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan initiative.
